Why is lavender oil good for human skin ?
Its antimicrobial ingredients are well known, lavender oil has been used for centuries to prevent various skin infections and to combat bacterial and fungal diseases. In fact, dozens of studies have been conducted to uncover the benefits of lavender oil. Studies have shown that thanks to its antibacterial components, lavender oil accelerates the healing process of burns, cuts, abrasions and injuries on the skin.
A study published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine evaluated how lavender oil increases its antimicrobial ability when mixed with other oils such as clove, cinnamon and tea tree oil. The researchers found that these oil mixtures were very useful in combating Candida albicans and Staph aureus, the fungal and bacterial infections that cause respiratory pneumonia and the formation of skin fungi the most.
In a 2016 study on rabbits, they found that lavender oil helped early wound healing by accelerating complex tissue formation and promoting collagen production. The injured area treated with lavender oil was significantly reduced compared to the control group. To soothe the injured area and heal cuts, abrasions and injuries, mix 3-5 drops of lavender oil with half a tablespoon of coconut oil and apply this mixture to the problem area using your fingers or a clean cotton ball.
