What is Blepharitis ?
Blepharitis is a disease seen on the edge of the eyelid, where the lashes extend outward and behind the oil glands. This is a very common problem and generally it occurs in people with oily skin, dandruff or dry eyes. Blepharitis may be caused by irritation or infection. Blepharitis is often a chronic condition that is difficult to treat. This complaint does not cause permanent damage to eyesight, but is still uncomfortable and should be considered.
What are the symptoms of Blepharitis ?
Blepharitis can cause complaints such as stinging, burning sensation, redness, watering, itching, burr in both eyes. Eyelid redness, swelling, eyelash irregularity, adhesion and flaking may occur. The diagnosis of blepharitis is made by eye examination.
