What is the relation between Lysistrata and women rights ?
According to Stroup, the play reverses a basic structure of the society and brings women, the subjects of private life, to public life. The women who did not leave their home, who took care of housework and their husbands went out and took over the country’s treasury, and therefore their administration. The first question mark also occurs at this point. How would it not be a reaction for married citizen women who are completely confidential and even having a name in public spaces, to be exposed publicly in a comedy, and to talk about their sex life and move their bedrooms out ?
