What is Prandtl Number used for ?
Prandtl Number is a number used in heat transfer. is the ratio of the thickness of the speed boundary layer (hydrodynamic boundary layer) to the thickness of the thermal boundary layer. In liquid metals, its value is generally less than 1, that is, in liquid metals, the thermal boundary layer develops very quickly compared to the velocity boundary layer, so that the thermal diffusion becomes much more dominant than the molecular diffusion of momentum. unlike liquid metals, its value is much higher than 1.
