In some babies, during development in the womb, hard structures (cartilage) in the larynx (larynx) may not fully develop.
What is stridor in medical literature ?
Due to the incomplete development of this cartilage structure, there is a weakness in the larynx and surrounding tissues, and due to this weakness, wheezing occurs due to the collapse and narrowing of the tissue around the vocal cords during breathing.
This wheezing is called “stridor”.
