What are the effects of Climate Change ?
The impact of climate change is not just an increase in temperatures. Plants, animals and ecosystems as well as human communities are at serious risk as a result of factors such as increased frequency and impact of extreme weather events such as drought, floods, violent hurricanes, increased levels of ocean and sea water, increased acidity of the oceans, melting glaciers.
The scientific world states that the increase in average temperatures should be limited to a maximum of 2 ° C to minimize the devastating effects of climate change. To meet this target, the CO2 content in the atmosphere should not exceed 450 ppm.
It is predicted that this rate of increase will continue with the current policies and practices. While the World Bank warns that the current increase rate of carbon dioxide emissions will reach 4 ° C in 2060, the effects of this increase will be felt especially by the poor.
