Can you give me a brief information about Capgras syndrome ?
According to a claim made by the famous Indian neurologist Vilayanur S. Ramachandran, the cause of the Capgras syndrome is that the connection between the temporal lobe, which is used to recognize the faces, and the limbic system, which provides emotional response to recognized faces, is somehow damaged and cannot function properly. Due to this damage, the patient recognizes the face of what he sees, but the patient does not react emotionally to this face. When the patient meets his brother and looks at his face, he realizes that the face is the brother of the face, but he does not feel him emotionally in the sense of ‘this is my brother’.
